YOU CAN BE SURE!

Without question, you have been faced with many decisions in your life. These decisions may involve your health, career, family, etc. With these decisions, there often comes a great sense of uncertainty. However, the greatest decision that you will ever make in your life can be made with absolute certainty. That decision will determine your eternal state, whether it be in Heaven or in Hell. We, at True Light Baptist Church, want you to know that you can be ABSOLUTELY certain that your eternity will be spent in Heaven with Christ Jesus. The Bible, being our final authority for all matters of faith and practice, gives us God's Simple plan of salvation in full detail.

The Bible Teaches us...

1. THE FACT THAT ALL MEN ARE SINNERS

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

To come short of the glory of God simply means that we have missed the mark that God has demanded. That mark is detailed in what we know as the "Ten Commandments." Have you EVER told a lie, stole, thought an unclean thought about the opposite sex, taken the name of the Lord in vain, etc.? Of course you have! If you have relied on your "good living" up to this point, consider these words...

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10)

You see, the Ten Commandments were never intended to establish your righteousness, but to prove that it was impossible to meet God's demands for Heaven by your own efforts. In your best condition, you are unfit to go to God's Heaven.

2. THE FACT THAT SIN MUST BE PAID FOR

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

Your best efforts can merit you but one thing - eternal death in the lake of fire. You see, sin MUST be paid for. By relying on your own power and efforts, you are turning your back on the one that has already paid that debt for you. Only ONE was able to meet God's demands as established in these commandments and only ONE was able to pay the debt for your sin in full. You need to realize...

3. THE FACT THAT JESUS LOVES YOU, DIED FOR YOU, AND ROSE AGAN

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

You see, to rely on your own efforts is to reject the most amazing sacrifice and gift that the world hasever known. Ask yourself the question - "If I could go to Heaven by simply being a "good person,"then why did Christ have to die? Since sin had to be paid for, Christ was willing to take the full punishment SO THAT YOU WOULD NOT HAVE TO! Though you may be loved by many in this world, you have never been loved in the manner and to the degree that the Lord Jesus Christ loves you! He has already suffered for you and paid the debt in full, yet you have the responsibility to receive what He has done for you. You need to realize...

4. THE FACT THAT JESUS IS ALIVE AND READY TO SAVE YOU TODAY

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

"Testifying to the Jews and to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21)

Understand the fact that your sin is an offence God? Do you realize that in your present state, you will spend an eternity without Christ in Hell? Do your accept the fact that Christ, the Son of God, came to this earth to die in your place accepting the punishment for your sin? If so, the Bible plainly declares that you can be freed from this awful condition and given life - ETERNAL LIFE! God is able and willing to save you at this very moment if only you will trust Him. God is willing to save you TODAY! Are you willing to receive His salvation?

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)

5. LET'S SUMMARIZE...

We are all sinners (1) and cannot get to heaven on our own. To pay for our sins we must die physically (2) and suffer in Hell for eternity. Jesus died in our place on the cross because He loves you (3) so that you could miss Hell. He rose from the dead and is alive right now in Heaven. He sees your heart and is listening to you as you read this. Tell Him you are a sinner and you don't want to go to Hell. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, (4) and save your soul.
